  What is the library Timings?

  Which are the items I can borrow?

Books, CD-ROMs, Project Reports, and Bound volumes are available to borrow. Reference Materials and loose issues of periodicals must be used in the Central Library premises.

  How can I borrow materials?

First, check the availability of a document in the Library OPAC. (Online Public Access Catalogue)  find the book in the open stacks for yourself and borrow using Institute Identity Card at Circulation Counter.

  How do I return the materials?

Documents may be presented at the Circulation Desk during the circulation hours. Always verify your account to ensure return.

  How can I renew a book?

Books that have not been requested by another borrower can be renewed at the Circulation Desk. A document can be renewed twice, upon which it needs to be returned back to the Central Library.

  How can I keep abreast of the due dates?

Regularly check your Patron ID available online to know the details of overdue books and fines. Also see the due date slip in the front page of issued books.

  How can I borrow an item which is currently checked out to another member?

You need to 'reserve' the book through the library website 

  Is there any late fee for documents returned after due date?

The late fee is Re.1/- (Rs. 5/- after ten day) per day will be charged.

  Can I request the Central Library to purchase specific, new material?

Of course. Complete a 'Requisition Form' by downloading from and hand over to the Central Library. All indents should get forwarded by their respective Heads. Requisitions may be made based on catalogues or other available sources.

  Any photocopying facility available for Central Library documents?

Charged @ Rs. 0.50 per page single side (black & white). This service is limited to library materials and articles published in journals, conference proceedings for academic and research work without violating the Copy Right Act.

  What are electronic journals and databases?

A number of journals and databases are available in full-text format to the Central Library members. Check the list of electronic journals (including 'Archives') available on the central library's homepage For more information.

  What should I do if lost the issued Books?

Immediately report to the Circulation counter in writing and replace a new copy within 7 days.

  How can I view the status of items I have asked the Central Library to purchase?

Check regularly the weekly New Arrivals alert sent through email and posted on the New Books List in the Central Library webpage.
